"Two things have driven me to where I am with my art today. First is my love of the outdoors and appreciation of what God has given us. My early days on a ranch and rodeos as well exploring our National Parks has given me all the inspiration I need.
Secondly, I grew up with, and fell in love with cowboys and Indians. I have always been fascinated with that period of our history and even our contemporary times. I spend much of my time on or near the reservation and on ranches doing roundups and brandings as well as at my home in Dubois Wyoming. My interest in the old and new west have directed my paintings in recent years to those subjects. I love what I paint and hope all who view them get that feeling."
Ohio University celebrated it's 200th birthday in 2004. Les was commissioned by the university to create a Bicentennial Painting of Cutler Hall, the oldest and original building on campus. Prints of the Cutler Hall Painting were used to raise funds for the Bicentennial. Pictured here is Les with then President Robert Glidden at the presentation of the original painting that can be seen in the background.
Les is represented by Row House Gallery, Milford, OH
